The Spirituality and Mission of the Community are inseparably linked to each other. Mission of love is more urgent now than ever as the whole atmosphere is flooded with the idea of love as romance, freedom to choose and enjoyments, which is devoid of important ingredients, like sacrifice and commitment. The love proposed by the death-culture of the modern world is neither life giving nor life nurturing. Such a trend has destructive effect on the continuity of human race itself since the institution of marriage is itself at stake. What the present culture has to offer to the next generation is a homeless and hopeless life situation. Alienation from God resulting in alienation from one another and the nature is at the root of the problem. People need to be helped to return to true love and return to God and to the nature. The Holy Bible reveals that “God is love” and “he who does not love does not know God”(1 Jn.4:8). The knowledge of God is inseparably linked to true love. The ultimate goal and the deep longing of every human heart is to reach God who is love. The documents of the Church also have stated “perfection in love” as the basic call of Christian life.

“Perfection in love” will become possible only when one sets love as one’s goal and makes the decision to walk in the path of love. Such a decision in turn necessitates one to turn to God in prayer. God alone is true love and the greatest lover who enables one to walk in the path of love. Only by drawing strength, grace and healing from God can we learn to walk in love.

Perfection in love does not happen automatically. As it is said, ‘love works if we work at it.’ The sacred scripture exhorts the believers to have love as their goal of life and to ‘strive’ and “pursue love” (1Cor.14: 1) PREM MARG which means THE PATH OF LOVE contains both the spirituality and the mission of Santvana Community of Disciples “In the complex reality of mission, initial proclamation has a central and irreplaceable role since it introduces man into the mystery of the love of God and invites him to enter into a personal relationship with himself in Christ and opens way to conversion”(Redemptoris Missio - 44). Introducing people into the mystery of the love of God through Prayer and Proclamation of the Word is the mission proper to the Community. The Community has developed its discipleship program called Prem Marg – The Path of Love for its own formation and for all who wish to learn to walk in the path of love and be messengers of love. School of love, School of prayer and School of Evangelisation are the three sections of Prem Marg program.
